I served as the Program Director of the EWB NEU Uganda program in 2021-2023! I lead a team of 25+ students through the development, design and implementation of a water distribution system in Nakyenyi, Uganda, providing 4000+ rural residents with access to clean water.
This is an ongoing project since 2019 and has progressed through several development phases, all of which our students diligently design and conduct under the mentorship and guidance of professional mentors, contractors and the EWB East Africa Office.

Community Engagement
Leading Club Meetings
Our community driven project is developed through a bottom-up approach that makes it specific to the needs, resources and constraints of Nakyenyi. We conduct monthly meetings to update members and receive feedback on project design.

Fluid Dynamics Applications
During one of my chemical engineering classes (CHME 3302 Transport Processes 1) I learnt about fluid dynamic calculations which I implemented in my work for this water distribution project. This video is an overview of how I utilized my knowledge from fluid dynamics to progress this project; it covers everything from utilizing Reynolds number to assess valve choices in our design to pump power calculations to better understand deeper implications of our tap stand locations.
